Weave the Word — Last updated: April 12, 2026

1. Introduction

Weave the Word ("the App") is a casual word puzzle game developed by Greeker Labs ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Gameplay Data

We collect anonymous gameplay telemetry to improve the App experience. This includes puzzles completed, words found, hints used, and session duration. This data is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

2.2 Device Information

We generate an anonymous device identifier (a one-way hash) to support cloud save functionality. We do not collect your device's hardware ID, IMEI, or advertising ID.

2.3 Authentication

The App uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to enable cloud saves. This creates a random user ID that is not linked to your personal identity, email, or phone number.

2.4 Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect device information and advertising identifiers to serve relevant ads. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google processes this data.

On iOS, the App asks for permission before using Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", ads still appear but are non-personalized and attribution happens via Apple's SKAdNetwork rather than a cross-app identifier. Your choice can be changed at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

2.5 Push Notifications

The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications such as daily puzzle reminders and game updates. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings. We do not store or share the FCM token beyond delivering notifications.

2.6 Google Play Games Services / Apple Game Center

On Android, the App may integrate with Google Play Games Services for leaderboards and achievements. If you choose to sign in, your Play Games display name and profile image may be visible to other players on leaderboards. You can manage your Play Games profile through the Google Play Games app. We do not access or store your Google account credentials.

On iOS, the App may integrate with Apple Game Center for the same purpose. If you choose to sign in with Game Center, your Game Center nickname and profile image may be visible to other players on leaderboards. You can manage your Game Center profile through iOS Settings → Game Center. We do not access or store your Apple credentials.

2.6b Sign in with Apple

On iOS, you may choose to sign in with Apple to back up progress across devices. Apple's Sign in with Apple flow provides us with a stable anonymized user ID plus, optionally, your name and email address (you control both per-app). If you select "Hide My Email," we receive a private relay email address managed by Apple and we cannot see your real address. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

2.7 Crash Reporting and Analytics

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. This helps us identify and fix technical issues. Crash reports may include device model, OS version, and stack trace information but do not contain personally identifiable information.

2.8 Social Sharing

The App allows you to share puzzle results and achievements via your device's native share sheet. Sharing is entirely optional and initiated only by you. We do not collect or transmit any data through this feature.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To save and restore your game progress across devices
  • To improve gameplay balance and puzzle quality
  • To identify and fix bugs and crashes
  • To display advertisements
  • To send push notifications about daily puzzles and game updates
  • To power leaderboards and achievements via Google Play Games
  • To remotely configure game settings for a better experience

4. Data Storage and Security

Your game progress is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore). Telemetry data is stored in our backend database (Supabase, hosted on AWS). All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your anonymous gameplay telemetry and cloud save data for as long as you use the App. If you uninstall the App and do not reinstall it within 12 months, we will delete your anonymous telemetry data. Firebase Anonymous Authentication accounts that are inactive for an extended period may be automatically cleaned up by Firebase.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

Each service has its own privacy policy governing data collection and use.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Your Rights

You can:

  • Request permanent deletion of your account and associated data at /account-deletion (no app installation required).
  • Delete your game data by uninstalling the App
  • Reset your advertising identifier through your device settings
  • Disable push notifications through your device settings
  • Manage your Google Play Games profile through the Google Play Games app

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may also have the right to access, correct, or request portability of your data under applicable law. To exercise these rights, please contact us at the email below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
